Here is a list of what’s in season in the spring in Georgia. I am trying to eat more seasonally as well as locally – something that should be easier once the Farmer’s Market starts up again on April 18th. I’m really looking forward to that this year!

Apricots (start)
Artichokes

Asparagus

Cardoons
Carrots
Chard and other greens (particularly in colder regions)
Cherries (seasons starts some places at the end of spring)
Fava beans
Fennel
Fiddleheads
Garlic scapes/green garlic
Grapefruit
Green onions/scallions
Greens (particularly in colder regions)
Kiwis
Kohlrabi
Kumquats (early spring)
Leeks (early spring)
Lemons
Lettuce
Morels
Navel oranges (end)
Nettles
Parsley
Pea greens
Peas (garden, snap, snow, etc.)
Radishes
Rhubarb
Scallions/green onions
Spinach
Spring onions
Strawberries
Sweet Onions
Turnips
