Friday Roundup 14

I’m so ready for spring to get here that I almost can’t stand it! I have started more seeds than my garden can hold and I’m ready to get outside and play in the dirt. In the meanwhile, here’s my weekly offering of random things.

  • It’s the little things sometimes. I ordered this packet of watering nozzles for all the seeds I have started and I am in love! This makes watering seedlings so easy; the nozzles fit over a standard bottle opening, like a soda bottle or a water bottle. It’s just the right amount of “sprinkle” for delicate seedlings and for some of my smaller houseplants as well. Check them out: Water Bottle Nozzles
  • Last Wednesday I got run off the road by a crazy driver who tried to pass me in a school zone. He got hit by the SUV behind me and I wound up as a witness when the police showed up. The whole incident shook me up pretty badly. It’s also the second time this year that I’ve almost been in an accident because of someone else’s stupidity, so I decided I needed a dashcam. This one comes highly rated by CNET: Vantrue X4S DashCam. It’s likely more than I actually need, but I’ll feel better once it’s installed and running.
  • I’ve taken up knitting again as a way to keep myself from doomscrolling in the evenings while I’m watching TV. It’s been many years since I knitted anything so I’m starting slow, just getting my muscle memory back and remembering how to knit and purl! I found a great YouTube channel: Sheep & Stitch. The instructions for beginners are great, and I’ve watched all of Davina’s “tips and hints” videos and picked up some good information.
  • I love it when my political nerd and my sci-fi nerd worlds cross: Stacey Abrams Becomes President of Earth. I also love that her only request was that they allow her to make her cameo without giving away any spoilers so she could still watch the season!
  • I found out this morning that the Alpharetta Farmer’s Market will open on April 2 this year and I’m excited! We didn’t have a farmer’s market at all in 2020 (thanks, Covid!) and only a shell of one in 2021. I’m looking forward to having as many vendors as possible back this year.

That’s about it for this week. I hope y’all have a great weekend.
